Itunes match stuck at sending information to apple

Anyone else having issues tonight? Once a week the iTunes match seems to auto run the info gathering and send to apple. Normally it works fine although can be a but slow to get a response from apple sometimes. Tonight it just won't go past 'sending information to apple'. Each time I start iTunes it gathers the info to try again. Anyone else getting similar? My library has not changed in weeks so it can't be anything like that. I guess server issues at apples end?

Cheers

Wayne

Bill in Massachusetts is having the same issue with iTunes Match: Stuck sending information to Apple, although my music library was updated days ago and I have no new CD imports.

I have rebooted the iMac, unplugged and pushed the Start button while unplugged ... and nothing seems to work.

This issue has apparently happened since the last software updated for security.

Apple is becoming more and more like Microsoft in the way they screw up things more trying to fix problems they already have in the software.

I found a solution to stuck iTunes Match sending information to Apple for ever (my iMac did that all day today): Sign out of your Apple account. When you do that, the Store menu options will again be available in iTunes for restarting iTunes Match. Log back into your account and all should be OK now. The iTunes Match windows will show up and sync your library.

The fix for the "sending information to Apple"  is. Click on the (x) to stop the info from sending. After that on your menu bar (top of screen), click on Store and turn off iTunes match. Quit iTunes and reopen it, once on go back to Store from the menu bar and turn on iTunes Match. Sign in and BINGO. This normally happens if your password for your Apple ID has been changed.

well... may have spoke prematurely. did a little prunning of my collection and went to 'resync' with match. Seems to be doing the same thing all over again, stuck at sending information to Apple. After adding two new songs. really think something is a miss with the iMatch service itself. And yes, I've tired all the normal workarounds, and them some.

1. Turning Match on/off = stalls at step 1

2. Signing out, turning off match = stalls at step 1

3. Deauthroize computer, turning off/on match = stalls at step 1

4. Restarting computer = stalls at step 1

5. Restore iMac computer to factory setting = stalls at step 1 (Only Apple software, no virus/firewall, etc.)

6. Plugged directly into my cable modem bypassing home wireless router = stalls at step 1

7. Stopping/Starting itunes match = stalls at step 1

8. Built a VM with 10.9.3 Beta and iTunes 11.1.6 Beta = stalls at step 1

9. Built new libary = stalls at step 1

10. Tired 23 different lib. backups from time machine which I know worked with iMatch prior to May 1st = stalls at step 1 with each one of the 23 libs.

11. Tired iMatch from MacBook Pro = Added new song to iTunes = stalls at step 1

12. Tired from Windows 7 Laptop = Added 1 new song = stalls at step 1

13. Tired from Windows 8.1 VM = Added 1 new song = stalls at step 1

14. Disabled iMatch on all devices and re-enabled only ony my iMac = stalls at step 1

glad to hear it is working for some folks. guess, I'll have to wait it out. too many variables in all this. could be connections issues to/from my cable provide to Apple data centers, etc. I was able to get it syncing the other day but that was short lived. I've never had this many issues with Match service before May 1st when the brought new regions into the fold. I've an open support case, so hope they'll be able to determine what the issue might be. Keeping fingers crossed. Good news is at least I can still play my music, bad news a service I'm paying for doesn't work. lol!

In my case with iTunes Match freezing and hiccups, it started happening after the last OS X security update. I tried a last desperate measure yesterday and it worked perfectly. Use Disk Utilities and repair your links and your disk. Your links (left side of the panel) will usually need lots of repairs, the disk usually checks OK. These checks and repairs take a little time; so be patient.

When you are finished, log out of your iTunes account, restart computer, then log back into your iTunes account. Everything should work fine now.

Tip to avoid broken file links in iTunes: turn off iTunes Match every time you import CDs into your library. When you are done importing your CD batch, turn iTunes Match back on from the Store drop down menu. The sync should then proceed fine without a hitch.

Let me know how it went.

PS. ALWAYS backup your local music library to an external drive. Time Machine stinks for this. Restoring your locally deleted (by design or by mistake) music from iTunes Match is long and tedious if you try to restore an entire, large library.
