Q: Itunes match stuck at sending information to apple

Anyone else having issues tonight? Once a week the iTunes match seems to auto run the info gathering and send to apple. Normally it works fine although can be a but slow to get a response from apple sometimes. Tonight it just won't go past 'sending information to apple'. Each time I start iTunes it gathers the info to try again. Anyone else getting similar? My library has not changed in weeks so it can't be anything like that. I guess server issues at apples end?

Cheers

Wayne

Can one download their music with Google Play?  I am a DJ and need that option.

    Thanks,

    Mostly yes.

You can download a limited number of times to archive to a hard drive, so if you need local access to collection, you can get downloaded MP3/320 versions of your songs, but only four times (I think - check this out yourself).

However, with both Android and iOS versions of the app, you have the option to cache tracks/albums/playlists to your device and they will remain on the device.  For example, you are flying and want to listen to music, you tap the push-pin and the selected stuff batch downloads and remains until you "un-pin" it.  I do this when traveling.

Will Apple ever sort out this problem?? Surely advertising a faulty product is against local trading laws?

Well, accepting payment for it certainly is!

iTunes match gets hung up for me on the step "matcing your music with songs in the iTunes store."  It has been hung up for hours now.  I've tried signing out of match and itunes.  Shutting down my computer and then signing back in to Match and iTunes to no avail.  The **** thing is still hung up.  How do I fix this?

Realistically, you don't. The problem is down to Apple, and they have already taken your money for iTunes Match, so they're not really motivated to fix it for you.

Some people have found some respite from this problem by signing out and in, or deleting their whole music library, or reformatting their hard drive, or jumping up and down on one foot, etc., but in practice there's not much difference between that and just waiting for a brief window when Apple's servers seem to be more capable of working properly.

The only approach I've found is to try matching at different times of the day/night. It seems that some times (often early morning UK time) are less problematic than others (probably because Apple's servers are less busy).

Your best bet would probably be to ask for a refund. (Or, like me, put up for it until your renweal date, then cancel.)

Same issue for me (I'm located in Switzerland) for a few weeks now. Stuck at sending info...for ever.

I am reporting this to loca trading standards - not that I doubt will happen - but they have taken money for a faulty product and failed to solve the problem. I cannot believe all these highly paid techs have failed to solve this - it really doesn't give you much faith in Apple engineers if they are incapable of solving this problem.

I don't know if it has anything to do with it but iTunes Match has just launched in Japan. Could this have anything to do with the even worse than usual "stuck at step 1" issue

This has been happening to me for several days now - It just gets stuck at 'Sending information to Apple'. Signing out and back in again, then turning Itunes Match back on fixes it, but it only fixes it once, it gets stuck again next time Itunes Match tries to run.

Seeing how long this thread has been going onto, it's hard to believe Apple haven't fixed it yet. Especially as iTunes Match is a Premium PAY-FOR service....

Same issue using US iTunes store. Been "doing nothing" but send information to Apple now going on day two. iTunes and computer restarts have not made a difference. I'm on a MacBook OSX 10.9.2 and iTunes 11.1.5. I submitted a support request. I had hoped to get this rolling before leaving town on vacation (and not taking my primary computer) but it seems this issue won't get a quick fix. Disappointing. Help, please!

I have been having the same problem for the past two weeks. Signing out of Match, turning off Genius, turning on Genius, running Genius, the turning on Match has been working; but only once or twice before it starts to hang again.

As of last night, even when I get past "sending info to Apple," it hangs on matching tracks.

Yep, struggling here in the UK as well. Been bad for about a month. Can't believe I'm paying for this.
