Q: Itunes match stuck at sending information to apple

Anyone else having issues tonight? Once a week the iTunes match seems to auto run the info gathering and send to apple. Normally it works fine although can be a but slow to get a response from apple sometimes. Tonight it just won't go past 'sending information to apple'. Each time I start iTunes it gathers the info to try again. Anyone else getting similar? My library has not changed in weeks so it can't be anything like that. I guess server issues at apples end?

Cheers

Agree. But... I'm in IT customer service, and the reps have to run through their scripts, and check the check box. Net = the more folks call in the better. Even if 're-creating' the lib work (which it didn't for me) that's unacceptable answer. You lose metadata, play counts, etc. from a troubleshooting purpose it is acceptable to ask. As a final solution being in IT field it is unacceptable. They need to figure out what is wrong with iTunes match service. Everyone who has been participating in this discussion board cannot possible have corrupted libs all of sudden.

Same issue here. Spent 20min jumping through hoops with applecare support, no solution.

Deleteing the new audio files I added & logging out of iTunes store seemed to fix the problem on the phone, however only a few tracks uploaded sucessfuly and it continues to hang on the others. I will be calling back tomorrow to talk to a supervisor because I'm not interested in paying money for a service that doesn't work.

Everyone, please take the time to call or email Apple about this so we can push for a solution.

I sent a detailed description of everything I had already tried and got a canned response clearly indicating that "Andrian" didn't read a word of it. I emailed back a pretty terse response so hopefully he will actually read my description next time.

Otherwise I will put in a call.

I started having this issue when iTunes Match expanded to more regions as well. I filed a Radar bug with Apple Support, but have yet to hear from anyone..

I got the same response from "ruwena" she also pointed out in her email that she would be available until 2:00am EST, but I have not gotten a response back after replying to her email.

I've been stuck for four days now.

I went as far as re-creating my library which took up all of my day, yesterday and it got me nowhere.

After deleting the "problematic" files that couldn't upload, iTunes Match managed to limp through the complete three stage process. However, after trying to upload another file I have run into the same issue.

    Very frustrated at this point.

Finally got some movement on this tonight. Still had to go through all the sign-out/sign-in gymnastics to get past "sending information to Apple," but now it looks to be very slowly matching songs. I had 69 pending and it has so far made it through 44 of them.

I still think that iTunes Match being activated in Japan was probably responsible for the process hanging on matching songs, but getting stuck on "sending information" still seems to be a problem.

I have experienced the same problem for the past four days. I went through a phone support session that didn't help (I had already tried everything they suggested).

I was literally at my wits end when it suddenly started uploading my newly added tracks. Not too long after, the process completed successfully.

It definitely looks like this is a sudden (or not so sudden ) failure in iTunes Match infrastructure. The service has always been a little erratic.

iTunes Match is a useful and enjoyable service (when it works) but Apple really needs to improve response times and reliability. In particular, like someone else has mentioned in this thread, iTunes Match does not fail gracefully. If for any reason your system crashes, iTunes crashes or your net connection drops, you're in for trouble.

Like iCloud syncing which has progressively become more reliable, I do believe Apple will eventually iron out the bugs.

Yesterday I turned Match off so it would stop trying and I could make better use of the program. I just turned it back on, and after "adding this machine" and entering my password, Match started up, then crashed to a halt, reporting a "network error". I am a network person, and can assure you the network error is not at my end. I restarted it (again) and am back to "Sending information to Apple" again.

By the way, some of you have reported that you have several files that need matching. In my case I currently only need to match a single file and, get this, it was purchased last week from iTunes! All it has to say is "Purchased" and it is done.

For those not willing or able to spend a lot of time on the phone, you can submit a report eleectronically as well. I already posted the link, but here it is again: http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html

Well this morning seems most promising. Since Thursday of last week. iTunes Match service was non-responsive. iTunes finally finished its syncing and matching/uploading my remaining new songs in my library, which was only 2 new songs. Hope others have a better luck moving forward this week. It seems the Match service may have gotten its heartbeat back.

    Hi folks,

I found a solution in case your MATCH is still buggy...

JUST BOOT YOUR MAC HOLDING THE SHIFT KEY (until you see a progress bar).

Then in itunes disable and re-enable iTunes Match.

It should rescan all your library and eventually works.

At the end just reboot your Mac normally.

    Best regards from Paris.

    Nico

This worked for me.  I was really expecting it not to but it actually worked just fine.
