Q: Itunes match stuck at sending information to apple

Anyone else having issues tonight? Once a week the iTunes match seems to auto run the info gathering and send to apple. Normally it works fine although can be a but slow to get a response from apple sometimes. Tonight it just won't go past 'sending information to apple'. Each time I start iTunes it gathers the info to try again. Anyone else getting similar? My library has not changed in weeks so it can't be anything like that. I guess server issues at apples end?

Cheers

It's never not broken I'm afraid.  As has been said countless times, there is NOTHING we can do to fix it.  It is up to Apple to ignore the issue and hope it goes away as is the status quo

It works!! Thank you very much!

I also waited a couple of hours after the "safe mode rematch" to check if this fix still works: I added some new songs and iTunes matched them in less than a minute!

By the way I'm from Italy, I don't know if the geographical positon is important or not…

    p.s. Salutations à Paris!

I have asked for a refund but had no response from customer services. Apple stink!!

    Glad to beof help.

The best thing about iTunes Match, it is he omnipresence of your music collection wherever: iphone in your car stereo, iPad via wi fi, mac, pc.

But it is a vast and complicated program that loses its marbles with damaged links between art work, comments, and other meta data information that piggy backs on the music sound tracks.

That is why when you backup your music library to an external disk, copy and paste the entire Music folder from your Mac or PC; otherwise, if you ever need to recover your music library quickly you will have missing art work, split music tracks scattered all over the place, no name tracks, etc.

Use your disk utiliy repair features after iTunes or OS updates/upgrades and you will be happier.

    Greetings from beautiful Massachusetts.

iTunes was stuck eternally at sending information to Apple. I fixed it by clicking on the small "x" to the right of the message. That stopped the process. After doing that, I clicked on Store and turned off iTunes Match and Genius, since I have no need for either of those "features." Note that before I clicked on that "x" both those menu items under Store were grayed out. I could not disable anything. Only after stopping the "Sending Info to Apple" blockage did those items again become available for modification.

iTunes Match really is broken like f*ck!

The only way I can get it work (Mac & Win) when I want to add new music is by _always_ deactivating iTunes Match while holding the Alt-key (Mac) / Shift-key (Win) and the activating it again. This _sometimes_ helps.

I really don't understand how Apple keeps ignoring this problem which is persistent for months/years now ... it seems they don't give a single f*ck about their iTunes match users / this product.

Yup it sure is.  You have hit the nail on the head - Apple really dont care.  It wont be long before my post, and probably yours, are deleted.  If only they spent more time fixing there broken products than policing these forums eh?  They should be shamed of their total disregard for their paying customers.

Friends, Colleagues, Cohorts, Comrades, Listen here, The Itunes Match is JUNK! They don't intend to fix it as they don't make much money on it. Your best bet is to cancel the service and get your money back. Hurry before the next iTunes Match outage takes out your collection!!!! If you enjoy having your head caved in by the perpetual "sending" or "delivering" of  your OWN music, then by all means stick with Apple. If however you like to have UnAuthorized access to your OWN music at ANY time without a cap of 25,000 songs, u might want to look at Amazon. After a week of total H*ll trying to "match" my measly 15,000 songs, I had to get the f*** rid of it! Happiness now due to unfettered access and delivery of my OWN music to my devices as it should be.  There are other services than Apple, thank goodness! Plus I do not like seeing "you are not authorized to play this" f&@$ing sh** No other service for purchasing music does this, Very annoying.

What app are you using on your iDevices to play (stream) music from the Amazon cloud? The nice feature of having all my iCloud songs directly inside the music app on all my iDevices is the only reason why I am sticking with Match!

I am using the Amazon App to play my songs on my ipad and ipod, instead of using the Music App on Ipod/ipad. I use the Amazon importer on my PC to import my songs to the cloud, and I use iTunes as my Music database(Only). I buy No songs from iTunes. I will occasionally have Genius make a playlist which I download directly to the device, so I can utilize the Genius playmix, but still have access to my Cloud songs.

250,000 songs, no limit, same price, better functionality! Good Luck!

Listening to music shouldn't be so hard.

I agree with Klabauter. I am fed up with Match. I would happily switch if I could access my library from my iPad. How is that done with Amazon?

Strange! I cannot obtain the Amazon Cloud Player. Has Apple disabled access to that app because they were losing too many people to it?

Whoa, no way! I wonder if that could be true. They really should be concerned about their competition being so much more superior.
