Q: Itunes match stuck at sending information to apple

Anyone else having issues tonight? Once a week the iTunes match seems to auto run the info gathering and send to apple. Normally it works fine although can be a but slow to get a response from apple sometimes. Tonight it just won't go past 'sending information to apple'. Each time I start iTunes it gathers the info to try again. Anyone else getting similar? My library has not changed in weeks so it can't be anything like that. I guess server issues at apples end?

Cheers

    Hi there,

I had the same problem with Windows version of iTunes although the fix is the same for Mac or Windows I'd guess. Try this:

    1) Turn off iTunes Match and Genuis.

    2) De-authorise Computer

    3) Sign out of your Apple account.

Re-boot computer and start up iTunes

    4) Sign back into your Apple ID

    5) Authorise your Computer

    6) Turn on Genius and wait for Apple to send back results and process completes

    7) Turn on iTunes Match and click the "add this computer" button to start the matching process.

    8) Allow iTunes Match to go through the updating process - this time it should eventually complete.

Hope this works - it certainly fixed my "Sending Information to Apple" problem.

It's hard to really consider these elaborate work-arounds as 'fixes'. Still, if it gives you some respite from this problem, then good for you.

Personally, I'd like a service that I'm paying for to work better than this, without needing absurd work-arounds.

    You're absolutely right.

BTW, I thought it's working again for me, but it's not. After updating to iTunes 11.2.1 I added 5 new tracks that iTM updated immediatly, but today it's stuck at "Sending information to Apple..." again.

Match on my mac is working fine atm, add tracks, matches them, no problems. However when I go to my iphone they are not there. I have to turn match off and on again to get them to show. :(

One hour after my last post here iTunes Match works again, at least for now. For me the service seems to be something like semi-fixed...

I have the same problem on the Mac version of iTunes - I just subscribed to Match yesterday and not too impressed so far!

+1  Thought this would be an easy process but stuck sending info to Apple for hours.  Really shoddy only joined yesterday wish I'd saved the £21.99 now.

Shoddy is an understatement - I cannot believe that they are still selling this product - it has not been working properly for nearly a month!!  Ask for a refund as APPLE CANNOT BE BOTHERED TO FIX THIS!!!

Added another track today, everything worked fine. At least for me the issue seems to be fixed.

If that's all it is, why does it work perfectly sometimes an not others? I think you just got another coindidence, myself.

I had this problem a while back for a few weeks, then without my doing anything at all it started working again. It then worked flawlessly for many months, then (again without my changing anything) it stopped again a couple of weeks ago.

I get the "Sending information to Apple..." about 6 out of 10 times match runs.   Another 1-2 times it hangs somewhere else or actually makes it through but doesn't actually update anything.  Odd.

Still, eventually it takes.  I don't add enough music to get too upset but it would be nice if Apple would make this "just work" like its supposed too.    Then again wifi sync no longer works via iTunes with my iOS devices so I'm not shocked this is only half working.

Sometimes its as simple as canceling the process and doing the Store->Update iTunes Match option and it works fine.

I still really like what iTunes Match provides and don't plan on switching away anytime soon.

BTW: I do have nearly 17k songs.   Maybe it works better with less...?

    Hello Everyone,

I have just signed up for iTunes Match and was experiencing issues with iTunes not completing the initial match on one of my computers.  On my Early 2012 MacBook Air running Mavericks 10.9.2 and iTunes 11.2.1 (3), iTunes would sit at Sending Information to Apple...

    What I did:

Stop iTunes Match process in whatever step it's in

Click the Store menu > Update Genius

An error message was displayed in moments related to an issue with the iTunes Store, click OK

Click the Store menu > Update Genius

Genius update process initiated and completed

Click the Store menu > Update iTunes Match

It made it through Sending Information... and proceeded to match my songs, then hung again during upload.  I repeated the process outlined above and it completed the remaining 400+ songs.

iTunes Match does seem to have it's issues, but once we help Apple work through them, it'll be another great service we wonder how we lived without

    I hope this helps someone!
