Cannot get past HBO Go activation

I had same issues. Here is what finally worked with help of Apple TV tech support

1. disconnected my router for over two minutes then plugged it back in and waited for connectivity to come back

2. Restarted Apple TV (go to settings menu, restart is at the bottom)

3. Go to HBOGO on applle TV select program and play to get activation code

4. Go to HBOGO.com/activate on PC

5. select apple TV

6. select cable provider (eg ATT Uverse)

7. Log into cable provider with your provider ID

8. get activation code from apple TV and enter it

9. Wait 30 seconds or so for activation to complete.

Note I tried steps 4 to 6 on a chrome browser and was unable to get to step 7. Then I went to Internet explorer version 11 and got through steps 4-9 successfully

We had the exact same issue today. When entering the hbo go code on hbo.com/activate press the enter button multiple times/ until you see an activation successful message on your Apple TV . We discovered this while getting out frustration after trying to get this to work for 20 minutes. Give it a try!

No, the solution is not missing. It it clearly stated, but here it is again...

When you enter/submit the code on hbo's website to activate the Apple TV press the enter button on your keyboard like a lunatic. While doing this you should see a message appear on your Apple TV letting you know the HBO is activated again. That's it. That's all we did and it finally worked again.

hi folks, i had an additional experience/insight i wanted to share, in case it can help someone else:

i was trying to set Hbo go up on my ipad and everytime i hit 'Apple Tv' in the first menu on the activation page, it would shut down my internet and i couldnt complete. i discovered that this was because my ipad also has the Hbo go app on it; i used my iphone, which doesnt have the app on it, and was able to activate my Apple Tv doing the code and all that.. phew..

Wow. This worked. I was using Safari and I had to put my cursor in the URL area and then hit return and then boom, it worked like a charm. Thanks Kmshuff
