I have a 2nd generation ipod touch and it wont let me download apps onto it is thir anything i can do

When i am trying to download it says that i dont have the upto date software but when i click on the update button is says i am upto date ?


Does anyone know if this can be fixed or if it is due to the model being old

If you are running iOS 3.1.3, it is very likely you have a 1st generation iPod touch. That is the highest iOS version it can handle.


Regardless, you can find plenty of apps in the iTunes store which run on older devices. Here is my favorite solution for filtering compatible apps:


iOSSearch - search the iTunes store for compatible apps.


And here are some things other people have suggested:

Vintapps 3.1.3 - paid app.

Apple Club - filter apps by iOS version.
