Can I trade in my 2nd generation itouch for a refurbished ipod nano and still get the 10% discount?

Apple says:

Recycle your iPod at the Apple Retail Store.

Bring your old iPod to an Apple Retail Store and receive a 10 percent discount on the purchase of a new iPod.*

Note the word 'new" before iPod. I would say no but I would call/go to an Apple store and ask.

Some places will buy back used electronics. NOt sure if they're looking for 2nd generation devices, they may want newer ones, but if you're in the states you can check out Best Buy and Amazon. You can check out online if they'll take it and get an idea how much store credit they'll give you for it.
