iCal syncing issues with iPad2

This just started yesterday but I'm getting the following error when trying to sync my iPad2 with my Mac (OS X -10.7.5) via USB and iTunes: "iTunes could not sync calendars to the iPad because the sync server failed to sync the iPad."

Can anyone offer any help?
