Why is safari using google
On my iPad, the Safari browser choices are google, yahoo and bing. Why is this not using Safari?
Thanks.

Safari is a web browser, not a search engine.
Safari is a web browser not search engine. Google is a search engine and you can set that as the preferred one in settings/safari/Search engine
If you're looking in Settings>Safari>Search Engine, that's referring to the service you want to use for internet searches, not the the browser. It will still use Safari regardless of which search engine you choose.
Thanks that answered my question...
You're welcome.
from last year but a new question - the search engine choices for Safari are Google, Yahoo and Bing - correct? There is no Safari Search engine?
on Safari, if using google, they still get my information or does Safari do anything when using google search?
Thanks,
Don
There is no Safari search engine because Apple doesn't have a search service. Like other browsers, it hands this off to search companies like Google and Microsoft (Bing). Safari will simply submit the search to Google and display the results, just like other browsers such as Microsoft's Internet Explorer.
Thanks, all is clear.
