Statcounter Help

Hi there, I am trying to use statcounter. I have a few questions.

1.During the setup it asks if the site uses frames? Any help?

2. I've tried it both ways, adding the text using text editor and iComment and I cant see my statcounter at all. All I can see is some counter that I dont see on my iweb page and a blue question mark. ?!?!?

Doing my head in.......

Brigsy,

Your site does not use frames.

I don't see any Statcounter code in your page source. Are you sure you added it? Try iComment again. Follow the steps...

1. Launch iComment.

2. Dismiss any file dialog window for now.

3. Open up iComment>Preferences

4. Check off "Search in Subdirectories" as well as "Add StatCounter Code"

5. Paste your StatCounter Code into the given space!

6. Close Preferences window

7. Under the "Go" menu, select Run iComment.

8. In the File Dialog Window navigate to your iDisk/Web/Sites/iWeb/sitefolder. Select your sitefolder.

9. That's it!

Remember that you have to do this everytime you publish your site through iWeb to make sure that none of the code was overwritten. Next time you open iComment, the preferences will still be set, so just go ahead and select your sitefolder and click run!

If you find this information useful, please take the time to provide me with feedback by marking my reply as "solved" or "helpful" using those little buttons that you see in the title bar of this reply. I'd really appreciate it!

You can mount your iDisk to your desktop using the "Go" menu in the Finder "Go>iDisk>My iDisk". You'll see it pop up on your desktop. You can do some exploring of the file structure then. iWeb saves all your files in the Web/Sites/iWeb/site folder. All you have to do with iComment is to set your preferences and then under the "Go" menu in iComment select the same file path on your iDisk that I just mentioned and click Go.

What version of iComment are you running? I, personally, and still running iComment 3.0 and it has trouble making changes on my network iDisk. My workaround is to turn on local syncing of my iDisk to my desktop. It takes a while to copy everything down from network iDisk to local iDisk, but it works well for me.

So because I have a locally synced copy of my iDisk my workflow looks like this...

1. Publish in iWeb
2. Sync to local iDisk
3. Run iComment
4. Sync to network iDisk again

This works perfectly for me. I have tried iComment 4.2 recently and that worked fine directly on the iDisk without the syncing workaround.
