Aug 9, 2013 2:16 AM in response to Tillybeanby King_Penguin,What sort of card are you using with it, and what is the card's capacity ? From the page that you posted from the compatible cards are :
- SDSC
- SDHC
- miniSD
- microSD
- MMC
- SDXC (supported only when not formatted as ExFAT)
And has the card come directly from your camera e.g. does your camera use the DCIM standard i.e. a DCIM directory off the root of the card with the photos underneath it with filenames exactly 8 characters long plus their file extension ?
If the card is one of the above and the photo filenames are ok then the Photos app should automatically open. The reader is properly inserted into the iPad's dock, and have you tried a soft-reset of the iPad to see if the card is recognised after the iPad has restarted : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
