IPOD as a stalking tool?

My ex has my old ipod touch, and last night (2 years since we separated) I got a message on my iphone that ipod touch is now synced to my gmail account. I deleted the gmail account from my iphone and changed the gmail password on my PC. I feel very uneasy about this. Should I be? and have I done enough to protect my privacy?
