Problems with Mac

Hi,

I've had an A1181 for about 2 years now, (was a late 2008 model) and was working fine before i went away on holiday and left it on standby, but closed and unplugged. I got back from holiday and voila, it wouldnt power on. The LED on the charger is not coming on, so i bought a new one and in case it was the DC in (Magsafe Board) I replaced these myself. Still no life. Battery now has 0 lights on it, so no power.

Went to my IT department, and they have confirmed that power is getting to the board, and that the part was fitted properly, but it's still not wanting to play ball.

any suggestions as to what could be wrong with the poor mite?
