Podcast keeps playing - how to stop it?

Frequently when I turn my iPhone on, there is a previously downloaded pocast already playing, even in the lock screen. It always comes on when I connect the phone to my car stereo. Sometimes, otherwise, it doesn't come on at all. All my podcasts are under More in the Music app. How can I stop this?
