Q: running slow....

I'm running 10.8.4 and my macbook pro needs to be restarted more often than before. when I restart I notice theres an extra 5 gb of hard drive free. that's a lot right, anyone know why this might be happening. I do run mackeeper,but no help. it's also crashed recently which has never happened to me on a mac before!

MacKeeper is at least part of the problem Kevin ...

5GB's free of storage space? That's another issue.

Click your Apple menu icon top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click About This Mac > More Info > Storage

Make sure there's at least 15% free disk space.

Third party cleaning utiltiies are not necessary on a Mac. Your Mac runs maintenance in the background for you > Mac OS X: About background maintenance tasks
