My power button isnt working i want to get it replaced but i have dropped it a couple of times with and without a case i have obvious dents on the sides will this affect my warranty and wanting my iphone to get replaced?

It's very possible that Apple may deny you a free replacement and charge you the out of warranty replacement rate of $199 depending on the extent of the user damage, which does void the warranty.
Since none of us here have crystal balls, you'll just need to bring your phone to Apple, let them examine it and see what they say. Expect to pay $229, and be very happy and thankful if you don't.
