wifi is on but is not connected to Network

My Mac was working fine but suddenly it stops to work with WiFi. Mac is showing "WiFi" on but unable to scan the network.

My Laptop:

Mac Model: MacBook; 13-inch, Aluminum, Late 2008

OS X 10.8.4 (12E55)

Processor 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

MacBook, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4)
