Cases For Macbook Pro 17"

So I'm going to be getting my Macbook Pro here in the next day or so and I was looking around at the Apple store for a case. Are there any ones you would recommend. It seems like the cases are mostly for the 15" ones or whatever. I can't seem to find a 17" case. If you wouldn't mind helping me out and maybe posting a link to it that'd be very helpful. Thanks.

I carry my MBP 17 in a Timbuk2 Track Day Pack. The bag is well made, fairly streamlined and compact, feels comfortable after wearing for several hours, and provides good protection with the MBP in its own compartment.

Timbuk2's website doesn't specifically mention the 17-inch MacBook Pro (I think they last updated the site when the 15 inch version came out), but a 17-incher fits fine with even some room to spare. I've been very happy with mine and I've tried many, many bags.

ChristoChang,

I swear by the Brenthaven Pro case. Yes, it's expensive, but it is designed to be the only bag you will need. It provides about the best protection money can buy for your laptop (go to the Brenthaven website and check out the design of the sleeve, etc.), but it goes far beyond that.

The Pro bags have pockets for just about any computing accessory you can think of, plus an "attache" pocket that serves very well as a "mobile office." I manage to fit my entire life into the bag, I carry it with me everywhere I go, and I feel safe tossing it around casually; no "babying" necessary.

p.s. The 17" bag does, in fact, fit the 17" Macbook Pro

I purchased the mezzi aluminum case and it matches my 17 inch perfectly. www.mezzi.com. Its black on the inside and scratch resistant on the outside. I took the mezzi name off the top and put my full name on it for identification purposes and I added the white apple to the outside. Whenever I go places with it (especially to the Apple Store) it gets the attention.

They have several to choose from; rolling cases, leather, extra slim and even one that looks like wood. The prices are more than reasonable and the quality is very good. I have had mine for several years and I have beat it up terribly but it still looks quite new and appealing.

I was trying to attach pictures but I don't think it is possible on this forum.

Good luck
