I do not have an iphone but I have a basic smart phone, however we just bought a new Mac desktop that has the icloud email service. I was just wondering if I could add my iCloud account to my phone without my phone being an Iphone.
You can add your iCloud email account to your phone by using these settings: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4864. While these apps aren't free, if your phone is an android, you could also look into using SmoothSync for Cloud Contacts and SmoothSync for Cloud Calendars to sync your iCloud contacts and calendars.
