I've been having this question for some time already,about the skype using iphone,i often use skype to contact my friends sometimes reaches about eight hours,it consumes alot of battery life and sometimes it power off because of low battery,issit harmful if i skype too long using iphone?please help

The only problem I see is that you are depleting the battery too often which will destroy the battery.
According to the Apple docs, you should only do it once per month.
Maybe you should connect to the wall power charger which "Skyping" so as not to deplete the battery.

No, the battery is not harmed by charging. While you are plugged in, the device is using power from the socket, and using the leftover to charge the battery. It does not hurt it to have in plugged in while using it.
