iPad Disabled Connect to iTunes

My son entered the wrong password to many times and now the ipad is blocked, it shows only a message...iPad is disabled connect to iTunes. I'm connected now to iTunes and the iPad is connected to the computer but don't know what to do next...

Everytime i plugged the ipad pop up msg says "if you don't allow to access, you will not able to manage or sync ipad on this computer" if i click ok another pop up massage says "to allow access respond on your ipad" this is the problem that im facing with. please any body :c

If you forgot your passcode, or if a message says that your device is disabled, follow these steps to remove your passcode. If you enter the wrong passcode on an iOS device six times in a row, you’ll be locked out and a message will say that your device is disabled.

Like Felito, my locked iPad was never synced to iTunes, so Texas Mac Man's instructions did not work. Apple gives the following instructions to completely restore your iPad (which will erase all contents):


  • Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
  • Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to shut down.
  • While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
  • Continue holding the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
  • iTunes will alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then restore the device.

Hi my ipad air is disabled and i have my apple computer but i dont know how to connect my ipad to it, i've put the USB charger in to the computer but it just say do you want this device to connect then i pressed yes then it has like a loading thing going and it says on top (to allow access, pleases respond on your ipad but i cant

Becauase the ipad is disabled.

so what so i do??

No, I am not sending you any emails (for a start I have no idea what your email address is), if you are getting emails it's because you've said that you want them, it has nothing to do with me. Go to your account's profile and turn off emails e.g. click on your name top left (if logged in) and click Preferences on the popup (you might need to toggle emails on and off) - or this should take you straight there : https://discussions.apple.com/user-preferences!input.jspa

The link in pap1405's post solved it for me. Here's what I did...


1) Connected my iPad to my laptop

2) Because iTunes wasn't recognizing it, I updated the driver for my iPad using the steps for a Windows PC here - Manually Update the Apple Mobile Device USB driver (near the bottom of the page)

3) Disconnected my iPad from my laptop

4) Shut down my iPad via holding down the Sleep/Wake button and using the slider to power it down

5) Opened iTunes

6) Connected my iPad to my laptop

7) Held down the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for a good 20-30 seconds. During that time the Apple logo appeared on the screen like it was starting up. However, I kept both buttons pressed through that until the iPad shut off and came back on again. That's when the Recovery Mode popup showed in iTunes (rather than the one that asks if you want to allow the device to connect to your computer... then tells you to respond on your device... but you can't because your device is locked).

Hi King_Penguin Ive tried the recovery mode several times and it's still not going to the recovery mode screen. I'm holding the two buttons down even after the logo pops up like instructed and i hold it for a few more seconds maybe half a minute to a minute and it brings me back to the lock screen where it says ipad is disable connect to itunes i have installed itunes on my computer and have the latest version. I'm not sure what else to do
