I tried a MacSweeper thing. Did nothing.
The dowload speed is chronic. Please suggest a handfull of steps to take to fix the issues. Thank you. I'm of very basic computer intelligence. M.

Details on what your ISP is supposed to be providing and how that stacks up to running some speed tests (and the results) will go a long way in resolving your slowness.
The Test shows a speed of circa half what it should be! So you are right so far...but the question is how to fix it?
