Pictures in body of email, want them just attached instead!

Help!

I need to send emails in to work which contain a word doc and a jpeg. I attach both in the same way but the image is pasted in to the body of the email rather than just showing as an attachment.

I used to do the same job with a windows laptop and attached files exactly the same way.

When the email is opened at the other end they need to print it. The pics I'm sending are large, and because they are stuck on the actual email body they get printed as well which is sheets and sheets!

When I used to do exactly the same thing from my windows laptop the email would show at the other end with just an attachment which could be opened. How can I stop pics pasting into the actual email body but just show as attachments?

I'm using the normal mac mail thing on a macbook air running mountain lion.

Mail->Help->Mail Help->search fo attachments and peruse the hits. You might find that Mail is mucked up and will only insert images instead of a normal attachment. In the Attaching Pictures, find this:

You can select Edit > Attachments > “Always Insert Attachments at End of Message” to have attachments inserted at the end whenever you send a message with attachments, which may help Windows recipients.

A workaround is to zip the files and attachment as a compressed item.

An attachment is an attachment. It is up to the receiving client how it displays.

You can try to force the format of the email so that some non-standard email clients can handle the attachments.

In the Edit menu, Attachments submenu, select both windows friendly and add attachments to end of message. Set the type of email to Plain Text.
