Q: Why won't my SIM card work in a different iPhone 4?

I have a white iPhone 4 and my SIM card works fine in that phone but I would like to change to a black iPhone 4 but the SIM card does not work. It either says "Inactive SIM" or "No Service". Can someone please help?

in which case there is something amiss with the black one
