Upgrade what? Hardware, software, what do you have, where do you want to go?
Given the particular model you have which is notorious for GPU problems, your best upgrade is a newer computer.
You may install up to 8 GB RAM with the following specifications: 204-pin PC3-8500 (1066 MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMM. The best sources of Mac compatible RAM are OwC and Crucial.
