My Apple TV says setting clock but never does, all resetting failed

Need to reset Apple TV 2 gen pressing remote menu & down doesn't reset? Says setting clock at startup but never sets it?

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.


TCP port 123 is used to communicate with a network time server.

If your router is blocking this port it will never set the time.

Also it needs an active internet connection.

Also, you can hit the menu button on your remote which will bring you to the main Apple TV menu.
