Which iMac?

Hello,

I am going to buy a iMac 21.5" (the lowest one).

Is this ok for FCPX?

I am going to edit fullHD (AVCHD) video (holidays, parties and so on).

During editing I will not be in a hurry for delivery and so on.

Is this a good choice?

Thanks

Just add, it will run circles around my 3 year old 27'' iMac, which meets my the majority of my needs. From your description of your projects, it sounds close to ideal – even if it is the lowest rung on the ladder.

Only one caveat expect to upgrade anything in this model after you buy it. So if you can spring for the extra RAM, do so when you place the order. 16 GB will make a difference.

Good luck.

Maybe not impossible but not easy for most of us civilians. 8 GB isn't chopped liver. But say in a year you get a camera that shoots 4K (or 5K); then you would definitely want to have upgraded. Just giving you a heads-up; as I tried to indicate before,i t's a very good machine for FCPX, but not perfect.
