Q: "apple support"

Now I am tired of getting opposite information about printersoftware. I have an Epson WF7015 and the last year i have installet epsonsoftware and the next time update fount out apple installed their software. None of witch worked.

Today a had planned at service call from apple but they didn't answer, and put me through to the main switch board. We all know how timeconsuming this is.

Does anyone (other than "apple support") know how to set this printer up on a mac?

I cannot print duplex, the colours are in draft mode and I have to set the print manual every time i print a page

IMac, Mac OS X (10.6.5)

Have you downloaded the latest drivers available for that model printer from the Epson website?

If so, have you tried installing the printer from System Preferences > Print & Scan > Print  ??

Your profile indicates your Mac has v10.6.5 installed. That is an outdated verison of Snow Leopard. Updating your system software may help the printer problem.

Your printer appears on Apple's list of supported printers, so running software update should be all you need to do to get the correct software for it. (There is no current software for OS X I could find with that specific model number at Epson's site.)

If you have not done so already, make sure you set it up according to Apple's instructions, using this article if you are running Snow Leopard & this one if you are running Lion or Mountain Lion for guidance.

If this doesn't solve your problem, please provide more info, like the OS version you are running, if you have selected your printer as the default one, & what options you have selected (or cannot select) in print dialogs.

I waited 1/2 hour on the phone for apple support to find an "expert". Then they just hung up.

It seemes like apple does not support printers.

Are you in the U.S.A. or somewhere else? Are you talking with AppleCare representatives working directly for Apple or with the support group of another company?

I ask because the procedure for talking with AppleCare people in the U.S. has changed, & it doesn't sound like you are talking with anyone in that system.

And again, there is not much we can do to help you without accurate info from you about the OS you are running & what steps you have taken to get your printer working.

As Csound1 points out, Apple doesn't make printers. Epson does. Have you tried dealing with Epson, perhaps looking for software for your printer on their website? Try looking here. Epson appears to offer an automated installation process. But as Carolyn Samit points out, you're way behind in OS currency and that may complicate the process.
