iMessage lagging, freezing

My iMessage has been super slow recently. It keeps freezing and slowing down. If I try to send multiple messages in a group they will take a long time to send. Also, I will open a chat and it will take awhile to load the chat, and then will only show the most recent message. If I close out the app and then open it back up sometimes it is better but sometimes it's not. I find myself shutting off the iPhone often to give it a rest.

Could it be the group chats? If I have a few group chats, does that clog the memory?

Is there a cache that can be cleared in order to speed up the performance? Any tips to increase performance?

If you have so many chat histories in you Messages App one advice is to delet some chat logs because that clogs the memory as u mentioned. Try to delete every log or chat history that's no longer needed and c if that helps. Best of luck

The phone is not jailbroken, Verizon official.

I cleared some old chats and deleted conversations that have been in my inbox for too long and it seemed to help to a point. Still very slow and glitchy. Not sure what the best steps would be going forward...

It's either because your phone's memory in almost full or you've got lots of messages in your log. moreover, my phone goes really slow with the group chat as well. It's just something annoying with the Messages App of Apple, try some other Apps for Txting, Hope that helps
