Probably a simple question, but I'll ask: I created a book cover in Gimp. How do I import it into iBooks Author?
MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.5)
iBA will accept jpg and png, and you could always try copy/paste as well.
Is there some issue you've run into?
Hi. I was able to export the GIMP file as a JPG (by choosing File - Export - and saving it as a .jpg extension).
I then opened the new JPG file from the Desktop using the Mac program Preview. I chose Edit - Select All then Edit - Copy.
I then opened GIMP and was able to paste the book cover successfully. So that's progress.
However, the template size of the book is too large for the cover.
So start again, this time with a canvas of the appropriate size.
I'd also guess you can simplify your process...
How do I set the canvas size?
Depends on how you created your cover in the first place and/or what the original cover/image source is.
Is it a digital photo...vector file...hand drawn and then scanned in....what? Is it an image that will retain resolution quality when resized/scaled up and down?

Also, what canvas size should be chosen?
I designed the GIMP file using the square drawing tool, the text tool, and then added some photos.
I just need the true iBA width and length dimensions.
It can be in portrait orientation or square, but not landscape.
