how do you reset the keychain access password?

My husband set up my iMac, he says he does not know what the keychain password is, but now it seems my keychain password does not match the apple i.d. I have for my iPad, so I cannot access iCloud, and the keychain password prompt keeps popping up, and He says to just ignore it! How do I reset the keychain password so my iMac can communicate with my iPad, etc.?

iMac, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.3)

It's the same as your admin password.

Without the old password, you cannot reset the keychain password.

You can create a new keychain and set that as default.

As Carolyn notes, the keychain password is normally the same as your login password. However, if you changed the login password, the keychain password does not change, too.
