How does warranty work for accesories?

The Lightning Tor USB charger cable that original came with the iphone no longer works. My best guess is that the wires inside have probably been damaged due to wear and tear over the months.

  • The warranty for the iphone is still active, but does it cover the cable too?
  • If so, how do I go about getting a replacement?
  • Will they even give me a replacement since its not a manufactured error/damage?
  • Do I need to bring any kind of paperwork/documents and do I need my guardians to accompany me when getting a replacement?

iPhone 5, iOS 6.1.4

Yes.

"f so, how do I go about getting a replacement?"

Make an appointment at the genius bar.

You should need nothing. The receipt would not help.
