Aug 13, 2013 10:38 PM in response to Linc Davisby Anndee,Thanks for all the replies and input.
I rebooted in recovery mode. There were disk errors to repair. I repaired them. I still have a free space discrpency, but understand that I shouldn't be worried. Correct?

Aug 13, 2013 11:03 PM in response to Anndeeby Linc Davis,The rule is:
Backups + Free space (in Storage display) = Available space (in Finder)
If that's what you have, everything is OK.

Dec 19, 2013 5:36 AM in response to Linc Davisby Vincnetas,I have simmilar issue. Diskutility reports that i have 93GB used
But when i try to find what is taking this space and run Disk Inventory, i get results that
i only have files for 64GB. Where my precious 30GB are gone? that's like 1/4 of my total
capacity on my air (120GB)
I have run disk utiity if found no errors. Some time ago i had similar issue, but then disk utility found
problems and fixed them so i got my space back. But not now.
