I can't download a gift because it says I have to install iTunes, when I already have iTunes on my computer.

Okay so my friend sent me a gift and when I clicked on "Redeem", it redirects me to a page that says "To download the item you just requested, you need to have iTunes."

I already have iTunes installed.

What is going on? How can I fix it? HELP ME OUT PLEASE!?

Hello FloKyle,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities 😀

I would recommend either of these two articles depending on the version of Windows you have

Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925

or

Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923

If you are using a Mac, then I would recommend downloading and installing iTunes from here: http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

All the best,

Sterling

Dear Community Specialists,

this answer is a joke, isn't it?

It's close to "just re-install Windows".

I have the same problem:

iTunes: Latest update, Firefox: Lastest Update, Java: latest update and of course PC reboot.

In iTunes:

App bought (clicked on buy, logged in, confirmed "do you really..." with buy and after that a second time logged in., then clicked on Clickandbuy).

Firefox starts, Clickandbuy window opens.

Locked in at Clickandbuy, everything comfirmed, message received:

"Sie haben dem Anbieter bereits eine Easy Collect Autorisierung erteilt."

(You already gave the seller an Easy Collect authorization). I did a lot of times, but iTunes gives a **** about that!

Clicked on continue and then the magic happens:

Firefox jumps to: http://www.apple.com/itunes/affiliates/download/

and there I receive this wonderful message (with my iTunes open!!!):

"To download the item you just requested, you need to have iTunes."

Thanks for this wonderful message!

I can't buy any apps! (for iOS "only", I can for android, but that's a different story 🙂)

With or without spyware / tracker blocker, that doesn't make a difference.

My only solution now: "buy another phone", do you have a better solution?

Would be great to know!

Many thanks in advance!

Hi

After having tried the (slightly ridiculous) advice of having to re-install iTunes, I got around this problem by pasting the link to my gift, into a different browser. In my case Chrome did not pop-up iTunes, but IE did.

It might just be a setting in the Chrome browser then that would be required to make it work in Chrome as well.

I can't download a gift because it says I have to install iTunes, when I already have iTunes on my computer.
