Calendar colors keep changing automatically

Hi dear community,

since today the colors of 2 of my calendars keep changing to a different color.

I have 4 calendars and of course use different colors to distinguish them - i have one light violet, one light yellow, one light blue and one red - but only since today my violet calendar and the yellow one keeps changing color aotomatically to blue and dark violet..... no matter on which device or how often I reset it back to my desired colors, it switches automatically to blue and dark violet...

Is there anything I can do about it?

Is this a know issue (since today)?

What am I doing wrong?

Any help is highly appreciated!

Thank you,

Reini

Hi Reini-Wien,

This is happening to me as well. I first noticed it on my iPad this morning when my black/grey "work" calendar displayed as purple. I did a hard shut down on the iPad and then restarted it -- and it displayed as black/grey. Then when I got to work, my "work" calendar changed from black/grey (which is a custom color) to purple automatically. It changed back to black/grey with some unexplainable clicking around. I suspect this behavior has something to do with the iCloud server and I'm hoping this goes away by some server magic.

Sorry I can't help but I wanted to add to the thread as I'm having exactly the same problem and also only since today.. I have 7 calenders and two of them ('Work' & 'Home') seem to be doing their own thing with regard to colours. They seem to vary between their original colours (blue and red respectively), blue and purple and it seems to change each time I open the calendar. At first I thouht it was BusyCal on the Mac but it's happening on the Mac, iPad and iPhone now. Even resetting the colours on iCloud hasn't helped.

Anyone from Apple listening who can help us out?

Here is one bit of predictable behavior that I've found. When I open ical on my Mac, the color of my default calendar (work) shows up as purple (which should be black/grey). My Calendar display is in WEEK mode and I see the TODAY bar in the upper right hand corner. If I click on the arrow to advance the calendar to the next week, the color reverts from the oddball purple to my original black/grey that is my normal setting.

Hi, I'm also having this problem today. Both of my work and personal calendars have changed colour from blue and green to purple and blue respectively. It's happened 4 times today - the first time I quit Calendar and it was fixed on restart, the second and third times I manually changed the colours back, and now it's happened again. Must be a server side issue?

Same here - just started happening this morning. I don't mind dealing with it as long as I don't lose data. I went off ical last year because it started moving appointments (as I watched....) randomly - can you imaging how that can mess up your work day.... To be clear, this isn't happening now - just the color changes, but it worries me all the same...

Hopefully someone at apple is on this!

I am new to posting but thought I'd contribute only to back everyone up to say I'm having the exact same problem. I have no clever fix, but I can confirm that 2 of my many calendars are doing the same thing. The others are fine, but the one I keep for my husband's travel should be MOCHA (from crayon color palette) but it keeps changing to PURPLE (default color). The one I have for my own appointments should be EGGPLANT (from crayon color palette) but keeps changing to BLUE (default color). My other calendars are fine like I said and use colors from the crayon color palette so I'm guessing that's not the issue.
