Q: Calendar color keeps changing:

I have multiple calendars color coded and several of them keep changing colors.   I've tried changing them back and they change again.

Ok... I am joining the crowd on this. Wake up, Apple! It is default back to blue and purchase. I am thinking of change the name of the calendars to avoid this problem.

Ok.. I did the brute force method. I added two new calendars with different names, moved my events, deleted the orginal personal and work calendars, and then renamed the two new calendar personal and work. Seem to have resolve the issue.

BTW, it was re-ordering my calendars as well. Go Figure. (I am off this ride.)

I have the same problem, and I hate the purple.  This is very frustrating.  I can not change the color settings on the calendar in iclould even when I follow their instructions.  They don't work.

Same thing happening here.  I didn't have any issues up until today (October 9) when my Work calendar decided to switch  to blue and my Personal calendar to switch to purple.  I've tried numerous ways on numerous devices to change the colours, but they just revert back.  I dislike this, especially since I already have other calendars with blue and purple.  Don't know what kicked in on Apple's end, but it doesn't appear to be working very pleasantly.

i thought of, might be reaching, i cant figure it out

blue and purple represent womens and mens cancer this month, if so i understand but please dont involve us in this celebatory colored event in our calendars!

OK i am a Laker Fan, Purple is great for my Laker PURPLE CALENDER,

BUT NOT FOR MY WORK CALENDER !!!!!!!!!

THIS HAPPENED 3 DAYS AGO, and I run a business and a life and Colors help differentiate,

PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE, IT STAYS FOR 10 SECONDS ON AVERAGE AND THEN REVERTS TO PURPLE AND BLUE,

This is a bad problem. I can't tell what's going on with our various calendars. I keep trying to set the colors back to what they are supposed to be and they keep reverting to purple and red. NOT ACCEPTABLE.

This happened to me today, too. My "work" calendar turns pink! That would be okay if I were a breast cancer researcher...

Just notice it happening for me on 1 of several iCloud accounts.  And "Ignore Alerts" became toggled on rather than off.

I may have a solution, I exported the calendar where the color is refusing to cooperate, then created a new calendar and was able to successfully set the color, then imported my old calendar into it, then deleted the corrupt calendar.  Seems to have worked.

This IS still happening on mine as well. I attempted to log into iCloud directly and update it, and as soon as I choose red or any other color it immediately rejects it and goes back to purple.

Absolutely DO NOT do this. When I tried it (I have 6 color coded calendars) I tried it with ONE just to experiment, and all kinds of CHAOS happened. First, I got duplicates of everything - EVEN THOUGH I DELETED the original, wrong color exported old calendar. THEN even WORSE, all the BUSINESS calendar items MERGED somehow into my PERSONAL calendar, and all the "catagory titles" for my BUSINESS now say PERSONAL!!!! The COLOR designation caused the merge to change the identifier to PERSONAL because PERSONAL = Purple and BUSINESS = Blue. BUSINESS had been "forced" into purple by the new bug. This is THOUSANDS of entries. Now, you cannot delete the personal because they have been MERGED. If you re-export and try again - it will likely merge into another - not yet known calendar.

What a f****in mess Apple!!!!!!!!!!! I AM SCREWED

What strikes me most is the lack of response and ignorace from Apple's side in response to this. I might very well try to get used to this or find more professional solutions. But who would have thought that you need something "professional" for a cheep calendar. Enjoy the cheap markets Apple, the coloured once.
