Q: How to get rid of Cache Out X?

I recently installed Onyx and want to delete Cache Out X. However, the animation in my display's top bar shows "Cleaning User Caches..." continually now. I tried force quitting Cache Out, but it's not in the list of programs running. How do I kill this background activity?

Macs run background maintenance for you. There's no need for third party cache cleaning utilities.

There are useful tools to delete cookies, browsing history and cache.
Those are not the same as the Mac's own tools.

That is an old archived article about system logs, temp files and cron tasks.
