So I have a pc, and it had the google chrome "conduit" search engine problem. So I disconnected my internet and logged onto my Macbook Pro and uninstalled chrome. I then deleted my google account and made a new one, but everytime I re install google chrome on my mac, Conduit is back. I've tried searching for it and haven't found it in any folders or anything, and I don't know how to get rid of it.

This is not a virus, or any other kind of malware. Deleting Chrome and reinstalling it won't help because the browser extension is stored elsewhere, and the new copy of Chrome will see the settings and extensions you had set up previously and use those. Follow the instructions at the link smgallagher posted to see how to remove Chrome extensions.
If you don't see anything by the name of Conduit there, try unchecking the Enabled button for all the extensions in Chrome, in the preferences as described in that link. If that cures the problem, enable them one at a time and see when the issue comes back. Then delete the last one you re-enabled.
If none of the installed extensions seem to be responsible, post back here for more suggestions.
Also, I have to disagree with Oglethorpe. Chrome is a good browser, and has some strengths over Safari and Firefox. I prefer Safari, personally, but there's no reason whatsoever to call Chrome the worst Mac browser. In fact, it's my preferred browser for viewing Flash content, as it's more secure in that regard than the other two.
To actually answer your question, I found an article from the Conduit support page. It details how to uninstall the toolbar from Chrome. And don't listen to Ogelthorpe. If you like Chrome, keep using it. I do.
I worked for AppleCare for about 5 years. CT loader was a constant call driver.
There are 2 ways to go about it:
Normal uninstall process:
1. Open the Finder application and browse to Applications.
2. Scroll down to Toolbars and click on <Toolbar Name>.
3. Double-click on “Uninstall”.
4. Fill in the “User name & Password” and click the OK button.
To manually uninstall the toolbar from Safari on Mac
Run /Applications/Toolbars/<Toolbar name>/Uninstall.app
In case the application fails you need to delete the followings:
/Library/Application Support/Conduit
/Library/InputManagers/CTLoader
/Library/Receipts/ctloader.pkg
/Library/Receipts/<Toolbar name>.pkg
/Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins/CT2285220.bundle
/Users/<User name>/Library/Application Supports/Conduit
I highly recommed you do this off line and reboot afterwards.
I searched high and low for a full day to find the answer. Tried everything that was said in this forum and nothing worked. I had the ****** conduit still hijacking my search on the address bar. And then I found it. Someone on another forum guaranteed that by dowmloading this app it would work in clearing all issues regarding conduit. So I did and IT WORKED!!!

madmara1966, the uninstaller you have linked to has nothing to do with Conduit. It is an uninstaller for InstallMac... and if you installed it, you are now guaranteed to have components of Genieo (aka InstallMac) actively running on your computer. See:

I had the same problems and followed everyone's advice but could not find a solution. Until I saw that someone posted this adware removal program and it worked great, it identifies adware then gives you the option to remove it. I would definitely recommend trying it and its Free.
My suggestion is to uninstall Google Chrome and be rid of it. It is the worst browser for Mac. Use Firefox, Safari or Opera instead.

I see that the conduit problem was solved for Chrome. Could anyone tell me if there is a fix for Safari on a Mac Book Pro?
I did that and it still Conduit gets reinstalled. None of the few solutions posted in these forums work.
All browsers are broken, each in their own unique frustrating ways. Use what is best suited for your needs.
You can simply Remove conduit from your system by installing good Anti Virus such as Norton, McAfee, etc. I tried it in my own system and it works.
