Hi. My iPhone is not connecting to the hotmail servers. My other email accounts work on it but all the hotmail one comes up with is "The connection to the server failed". Are other people experiencing the same issues?

Same here. Didnt know it was Hotmail. I have 5 different accounts and tried turning off each one to test it, but it didnt matter. It would be helpful if the error msg came back with which mail account was causing the error. I think Microsoft is shutting down Hotmail in favor of Outlook.com

my problem is the same...no email. it did come up for a couple hours this morning and I thought the problem was solved, but is now giving me the "connection to server has failed message again" . Is this still a Hotmail problem? anyone else have this happen?

You can view that hotmail is down at downrightnow.com as well as status.live.com
Same problem here ! I can log in hotmail via the browser but can't sync with the mail app.
I guess we will have to wait a bit ....
The answer is, you need a level two password for your devices now. Go to:
https://account.live.com/proofs/apppassword
It will give you an App password. Copy and paste that as your new password in your mail settings on your iphone/ipad.

2 step authentication isn't neccessary for mobile devices, the reason was that hotmail was down and I just wanted clarification on whether it was my device or everyone. Thanks everyone for letting me know and I'm glad its all back up and running now.
I am still having issues pulling hotmail up on my iphone. I even tried taking the phone into my service provider (Verizon) they were not able to help. Is there a fix yet?
