Q: iCloud Calendars Changing Colors

I have used the iCloud calendar flawlessly for months between my macbook pro, and my iPhone 5. I have 3 calendars (School, Work, and Events) and they have always synced between my phone and laptop perfectly. I noticed just last night (Aug. 13th.) that the small color icons on each calendar are changing by themselves. It is very frustrating, is anyone else having this problem?

I will change them back to the colors they originally were, and without clicking or touching anything else, wait a few seconds and watch them change. It seems that whenever it refreshes or tries to sync, they change randomly - sometimes with more than one calendar being the same color. I tried turning off all wireless activity on both my macbook and iPhone, and resetting the colors on both, but the moment I turn wifi/data back on, they start randomly changing again.

Any ideas?

As of today, the calendar colors seem to be working again for me!

Not me. I have one particular calendar that's assigned to "red" on both devices, but it keeps changing itself back to blue. I logged in and out and nothing. No reason for it to be blue, but it keeps changing itself...

On my iPhone I've been able to set the calendar colors back to where I had them before this issue reared its ugly head again. At this point, it has been almost 3 hours and they have not reverted back to purple=work and blue=home.

On my MacBookPro, however, I still have a purple work calendar and blue home calendar.  Is there way to directly change the calendar colors on the MacBookPro?  If so, where are these settings managed? I'm running the latest version of Mountain Lion.  Thanks.

FYI, that's where I've been changing mine - on my MacBook Pro - and they are reverting back to the weird colors just the same. I wouldn't waste your time until this is fixed or we get some definitive info from Apple...

Where have you been changing the colors on your MacBookPro?  Where are the calendar color settings located? Thanks.

    Open Calendar, then...

    1. Click on the 'Calendars' button at the top left corner
    2. Right click (or Ctrl+Click) on the calendar of which you want to change colour
    3. Click 'Get Info'
    4. Choose your colour next to the name

However, iCloud is still currently changing my colours back to default no matter what I do...

the iCloud issue is NOT resolved yet, meaning that any calendar app synced via iCloud is still affected.

"One more thing": now my calendar started going nuts!!! I've added a new event on the iPhone (3GS, running iOS 6.1.3) and the event completely vanished!!! I've disabled iCloud Sync completely until this crisis go out.

Maybe some people think it's just an event on a single person calendar, but I don't see it this way. For me, my calendar ate an event and I don't remember it's details, so I'll have to make some calls to get my agenda back. It's just one event, but I know some people with complex schedules (some of them buyed an iPhone after my suggestion) and they can lost an entire business if this happens to more than a few events.

Apple had a good reputation, but this is irritating. I've always recommended their products as "bug free" or at least free of this major troubles. It's completely unacceptable to let this happen!

Unbelievable!  My calendar colors on my MacBookPro just changed to my selected colors.  Could it be that this issue is fixed?

I just checked, made color changes from both my MacBook and my iPhone, then rechecked - all are finally in sync again no matter where I set the colors!!!

Everything seems to be normal. It only took one of the biggest, richest corporations in the world a week to fix a trival thing like a colour co-ordindated calandar. Hate to see how long it takes to fix something more serious. But I still love my Mac products!

My colors are also back to normal, but I'll wait for a few more days to sync my calendars with my devices. Just to be safe, you know... B)
