linking pen tool graphics in Motion

I am creating a 10 year growth chart in Motion 4 using the pen tool. However, I tend to slip on the mouse before I get to the tenth year. Is there a way to do a little of the chart, then a little more, so that I get just what I want? I'd like to know how to adjust the lines to the spots on the graph, then link all the lines together. Is that possible?
