Russian and Polish text in FCP edit?

Hi there,

i need to add some russian and polish text in an FCP edit. Both text files show perfectly in MS Word using the appropriate fonts i.e. Helvetica CY for Russian and Helvetica CE for Polish as central european language.

The russian text can be copied and pasted without any problems into the title editor of FCP using there as well the Helvetica CY font type.

When doing the same with the polish text the needed font Helvetica CE is not available in FCP! Why? I also do not find it with spotlight anywhere in the system! Do i need to intsall anything else! Again, in word, the font is available!

How do a manage to work with the polish text (Helvetica CE) in FCP.

Thank you very much for your help.

Are you using WordX? This uses the old legacy encodings and fonts instead of Unicode. In Word2004 and other modern apps like TextEdit you would use Lucida Grande.

I had thought that FCP also used Unicode rather than the legacy CY/CE fonts, though I could be wrong. What happens if you type your text in TextEdit instead of Word and copy/paste with Lucida Grande as the font?
