I need to install a driver for 'USB Guitar Link Cable' on my mac, but the item only came with a small mini CD. I fear that if i insert this into my mac's disc drive - I may never get it out again. Does anyone know whether macs are compatible with these smaller CDs?

The DVD drive included with all Macs are not compatible with mini CDs. You have to look for an external disc drive that supports them in order to install software from it
Maybe also go to the manufacturer website. They may have a downloadable version of the driver you're looking for.
