how to remove a freeze frame in final cut pro x

Nope, no way to remove a Hold Frame except to delete it. Click the red header bar showing it is a Hold Frame. That selects just that segment as a Range. Delete.

Unfortunately it leaves you with two independent clips with a jump cut you can't do anything about. I'd hope Apple comes up with a realistic, professional way to deal wtih this.

Assuming your clip is on the Primary Storyline:

Press Cmd+B to Blade the clip immediately before the frame in question.

Select the first part of the clip and press Alt+Cmd+Up-Arrow to lift it from the Primary Storyline.

Drag out the end to cover the duration of the clip you want to overwrite.

Press Alt+Cmd+DOWN- arrow to overwrite to the Primary Storyline.

I hope that's what you're looking for.

I guess the simplest way is just delete the clip.

Retiming creates a hold frame. If you used the Add Freeze Frame function. The freeze is a separate clip that can be select and deleted.

I think he's using the freeze frame function not the hold frame function.

1- Click the red header bar showing it is a Hold Frame.

2- Hit the Delete key.
