I used a series of calcuations to derive values. Now that I know that values, I would like to use them as an absolute and do additional calculations. Right now, my spreadsheet keeps trying to revert to the original formulas. I hope this makes sense. Thank you.

If you mean you do not want the cells to contain formulas but, instead, the actual values, you can copy the cells, then paste values using the menu item "Edit > Paste Values"

When you say "absolute" do you mean the positive value of a number that could be negative?

In Numbers, this formula will return a positive value from a negative value:
B2 contains the formula
=IF(A2<0, -A2, A2)
and fill down.
=IF(Condition, Then, Else) 😉

Oops,
I just had a look at Function Browser in Numbers (on the Toolbar) and found the ABS function. It does the same thing.
"The ABS function returns the absolute value of a number or duration."
