Rick,
I am not clear whether you are using Pages or Numbers. Can you clarify that?
Number does not perform currency conversions directly. You will have to get the current exchange rate and perform the operation using one of more cells.
Canadian$ = American$ * RateCanToAmer
I have a Pages doc with a numbers insert in the document. I am not trying to convert funds, just entering values or dollar amounts and the cell function places a US infront of the dollar amount.
thank you
You get US dollars as your computer is set to English which in Apple world is the american englis and not Canadian english. You can change it in the System preferences > Langiage and text> Language > Edit list > Select Canadian English > Ok it and drag Canadian up to the top of the list!! > Restart the computer to make it work
Wayne's screen shot shows the currency list in Pages on a computer whose system preferences are set to US Dollar for currency. Here's the Canadian versions:
System Preferences > Language & Text > Region
Pages Inspector > Table > Format > Currency:
result dhown for an entry of "1" in the cell to the left of the Inspector.

Barry
