Q: What do I do when "Sign in to view account information" hangs?

Trying to set a new mac to automatically download my previous purchases, but there seems to be no way to get the app store or itunes to recognize me, even though my apple ID works -- obviously, or I wouldn't be able to sign in here ...

But hey Apple says they'll email me back a link to their FAQ page within 48 hours! So no problem everyone

The App Store does not support automatic downloading of previous purchases regardless of the issues with your Apple ID.

Even though you can access Apple Support Communities, if you haven't tried, reset your Apple ID password from here >  Apple - My Apple ID

When you can login successfully, click Purchases from the menu top of the App Store window. To re download previous purchases, click Install.

Previous purchases can only be re downloaded using the same Apple iD they were originally purchased from.
