IPod rarely charges

I own a 4g IPod Touch 64gb and my IPod takes a really long time to even start charging I'd have to leave if for an hour up to 3 days for it to charge and when im done with it again I'd have to wait. I know its the IPod not the charger it charges my friends with no problem and I got a new one now it doesnt even charge. Can I bring it to an apple store and pay for the battery replacement? Its been 3 years since I bought it so will they even give me any service?

Certainly they would, but a replacement not a service. But before that, make sure:

1. Clean the dock connector of unwanted dust if any.

2. Trey a simple rstart of the device (Power+Home for 10 secs)

3. Do a software restore without restoring from backup.

4. If all else fails, book an appoinment with the Genius Bar of the Retail Store.
