Scratch on Macbook Pro 13 , on the back cover

Hi

I just got my Macbook Pro 13inch for a week . This morning, while Im cleaning I remove my laptop to my desk. On the desk , there was a bobibine. I wasn't aware. So , I put my laptop on it. As result, I got few scratches on the back cover. Tomorrow, I'll have an appointment with apple store. Can they remove it the scratch or try to hide it ? I bought at Best Buy, online. I have 1 month of return policy. I am asking can I return it ?

Im sure Im not the only one who got scratch. Did apple store fix yours. Their services were bad or good ? Thanks 😀

Hey,

I went to the apple store today. You are right they don't give free services.

They replace a new back cover. It cost 105.Tax included. Everybody watch out. BACK COVER is the cheapless body on Macbook Pro. It only cost 92$. Dont go to the other repair store. Yesterday, I call a repair store, they told me that it will cost 150$ -.-

Well, scratches have nothing to do with Apple, ... but the consumer.

You dont know, but it literally not only takes a VERY long time to removed scratches from matte aluminum but is a skill that takes a very long time to learn.

The cracks you mention were from people who dropped their macbook, just the nature of accidents on a portable device. There is accident / theft insurance for such things in the future.

Taking the scratches out of polished aluminum is rather easy. out of matte aluminum is very very hard. 😐

Computer technicians are not metal workers.

Consider it a "macbook freckle" as one friend once called a scratch on his macbook

Dont get upset, you've got a wonderful 1st rate laptop that sells far higher used than any other laptop out there years down the road. 😍

All accidents have consequences, such is life.

If youre so inclined, there is an abbrasive paste sold to remove lite scratches from macbook casings, however since the scratch is on the monitor, extreme care would be required that you didnt press down too hard in doing so, and not having done it before I wouldnt recommend it.

The days of "fixing" things on laptops or computers in general ended a very long time ago.

When they evaluate it, the cost will be for replacing the entire cover of the monitor.

Is it a deep scratch? Are you willing just to live with it as a personality mark?

Removing scratches on matte finish aluminum is very very hard, and I have a lot of experience with same.

You have to buff out the scratch, which leaves a BIG shiny spot, which you then have to dull down to matte to match, then you have to blend it.

So, I should say removing the scratch is easy, ....making it match and dulling it down and blending it is the very hard part. 😊

Apple removes part A, replaces with new part B, and either recycles the part or sends it out for reconditioning by a third party. All computer companies work this way now.

Let Apple evaluate it as you wish, but accidents aren't covered under warranty.

Apple service is #1,.... but there is nobody in the back room that will do buffing and grinding and using polishing compound paste to blend scratches on matte aluminum. 😐

It's not a deep scratch. But it is really bother me. The Irony thing is I went to the apple store today. I just bought a case to protect from other scratch. Then, I ask 3 personals how will be the cost to replace the coverback...blabla. They all told me , bah you have to make an appointment , then the technitian will tell u . Why they just tell me now, if they dont really '' Repair for GRATIS'' .... !!!! From now , I'll just find a way to hide the scratch 😀

Apple stuff too expensive and bad quality

Desigh from California

Made in China

LOOOL

When I saw all the comments about Macbook Pro scratch or crack

I was soooo soooo disappointed

When the world became more and more capitalist , consumers subit the major consequences !!!!!!!!😠 so mad !!!
